This is in addition to getting Egypt back to the Sunni doctrine of Islam. Saladin managed to do this and became the Caliph himself (1174 CE). Saladin build a Citadel to defend Cairo against any attack. Mohamed Ali", decided to build a mosque and a mausoleum for himself, in (1831 CE). Mohamed Ali was the founder of modern Egypt and the last Royal family of Egypt. His mosque at the citadel is a distinctive piece of art and architecture.
