Afterward, you proceed to explore the Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Near the end of the Fatimid Caliphate (969 – 1178 CE), the Muslim ruler of Damascus struggled with the Crusaders to protect the Holy Lands and Jerusalem, Therefore, he sent one of his followers, Saladin, to control Egypt and to put an end to the Fatimid Caliphate.
